Evaluation of BSP and DMP1 in hydroxyapatite crab shells used for dental socket preservation

Background: Bone resorption due to tooth extraction leads unpredictable bone volume for future prosthetics. Crab shells were promoted as a solution prevent resorption, along with an effort reduce biological waste. Purpose: This study aimed analyze the expression of sialoprotein (BSP) and dentine matrix protein-1 (DMP1) in wound healing process tooth-extraction sockets after applying crab shell-derived hydroxyapatite scaffold. Methods: The subjects (28 Cavia cobaya) divided into control treatment groups. group was left untreated, while received scaffold Portunus pelagicus shell socket.
